What time does WTF DUMBO get direct sunlight into the studio?
We are a corner studio with windows covering 2 full walls and gets incredible natural light all day. In the morning the sunlight hits direct and creates dramatic window frame shadows (8am - 11am). In the afternoon (1pm+), the sun is directly above the building so it will be soft and diffused .The natural light can also be blocked out by our blackout and sheer curtains. The windows are facing East and South from the building.
What is the Square Footage and Layout look like?
The studio is 2000 SQFT
Is it OK to use smoke, fog, haze, confetti, and glitter?
Only water/vapor based smoke and fog machines are allowed in our studios.
There will be a penalty of $500 to any customer found using smoke or fog other than water based and will not be allowed back in our studios. This will be strictly enforced.
Any hard to clean materials such as glitter, confetti, powder, oils, wax is also not allowed in the studio. Failure to do so will no longer be allowed back in our studios.
Is WTF DUMBO soundproof?
We are NOT soundproof. We have tools available to assist with absorbing sound for clients that still wish to do interviews and live streams at our location but we are not considered nor advertised as soundproof.
Can a client make changes to add-ons the day of a booking?
Some add-ons cannot be changed the day of: pre-fixed lighting setups have to be scheduled in advance, canvas backdrop requests have to be scheduled in advance.
Seamless paper add-ons can be added the day of a booking, however if they are not already mounted that is at the discretion of the client to install without supervision.
Can we come in and set up earlier?
No, to respect everyone’s booked sessions please do not arrive prior to your reservation time. Please note that your reservation ends 10 minutes before the last hour is up. Please start wrapping up and leave the studio by the time your booking is over.
There is an overtime fee of $100 plus $80 per hour that you overstay, so please, be respectful of the community and leave when your time is up.
Are there security cameras in the studios?
Yes, to protect everyone’s safety the studios and common areas are all monitored by security cameras. Your work is protected and footage will never be shared.

What are the operating hours at WTF DUMBO?
Weekdays are 8am - 8pm; Saturdays and Sundays are 8am - 5pm.

Do clients have to pay extra for the props at WTF DUMBO?
Our props and lighting equipment are included in our hourly rate.
Does WTF DUMBO offer flat day rates?
No. Since we included everything all in, we only operate on an hourly booking basis.
Does WTF DUMBO offer memberships for photographers + creatives?

Does WTF DUMBO accept internships?

What lighting equipment is provided to clients at WTF DUMBO?

Can I throw events at WTF DUMBO?
No. Currently we are not offering the studio as an event space.
Are clients allowed to use the rooftop?
No. Property Management prohibits access to non-tenants to utilize the rooftop.
Can we hire team members of WTF DUMBO for bookings?
We can provide photography services (both film or digital), makeup artistry, hair styling, wardrobe, and lighting experts / technicians. Please inquire for rates and availability by emailing us at wtfdumbo@gmail.com.
What happens if I lose the key to the studio?
You will be charged a replacement/inconvenience fee if the key card to the building + elevator access is lost or damaged.
Is there a freight elevator?
Yes. It is located at 65 Pearl Street. It operates weekdays from 9am - 5pm.

Are there bathrooms on the floor of the studio?
Yes. They are close by on the same floor near the elevators.
How close is WTF DUMBO from Brooklyn Bridge Park?
We are 3 blocks away, less than a 5 minute walk from Brooklyn Bridge Park.
If I book a multi-day shoot at WTF DUMBO, can I leave my equipment overnight?
Yes, you are allowed to leave items overnight. Please keep in mind that doors must be locked and we are not held responsible for items left in the studio overnight.
Is there parking in the neighborhood?
We are a block away from 3 main garages: PARK KWIK and QUALITY CAR PARK.
There is also a combination of meter parking and alternate side parking available.
Can I take the train to WTF DUMBO?
Yes. The closest trains are: the A, C to HIGH STREET. 2, 5 to BOROUGH HALL, F to YORK STREET, and Buses: B25, B62, B69, B57, & B67.
